About
SBA provides assistance primarily through three programmatic functions: (1) Access to Capital (Business Financing) (2) Entrepreneurial Development ( Education, Information, Technical Assistance & Training and (3) Government Contracting ( Federal Procurement).
Access to Capital: SBA provides small businesses with an array of financing for small businesses from the smallest needs in microlending to substantial debt and equity investment capital (venture capital). Debt financing, surety bonds,equity financing and Export Financing are available through SBA Guaranty Programs or other Agency Programs.
Entrepreneurial Development (Education, Information,Technical Assistance & Training): SBA provides free individual face-to-face, and internet counseling for small businesses, and low-cost training to nascent entrepreneurs and established small businesses in over 1,800 locations throughout the United States and US territories. The Dallas/Fort Worth District Office services 72 counties in North, Central and East Texas.
Government Contracting (Federal Procurement): SBA provides Federal Contracting support and business development assistance for companies seeking federal procurement opportunities. The Small Business Administration’s Office of Government Contracting & Business Development works with federal agencies to award at least 23% of all prime government contracting dollars to small businesses and help federal agencies meet specific statutory goals for small disadvantaged businesses, women-owned small businesses (WOSB), service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses (SDVOSB) and small businesses that are located in historically underutilized business zones (HUBZone).
The SBA District Office also provides small businesses with subcontracting procurement opportunities, outreach programs, and training.The Dallas/Fort Worth District Office offers free Certification Training monthly. The U.S. Small Business Administration has delivered millions of loans, loan guarantees, contracts, counseling sessions and other forms of assistance to small businesses.
