The Small Business Center announces Business and Inclusion M/WBE Program Administrator Jesse Saldana

Jesse received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Political Science from Southern Methodist University and an Associate of Science from Brookhaven College. Jesse comes to the Small Business Center after nearly ten years at Dallas Independent School District (Dallas ISD) as an Investigator with the Professional Standards Office, focusing on Minority and Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE) construction compliance, and procurement process improvements, and compliance investigations.

Jesse was a proud employee of the M/WBE Department for over nine years. He worked to maximize M/WBE participation by educating companies about business opportunities with Dallas ISD. He was responsible for the M/WBE selection committee evaluations, contract compliance, and outreach. In addition, Jesse advocated for M/WBEs in the Purchasing Department’s competitive procurement process.

Jesse began his M/WBE career in 2008 with Regional Hispanic Contractors Association in his Procurement Development role. In this role, he has been involved in outreach with nearly 100 local, state, and national organizations for the advocacy of M/WBE opportunities. Jesse was recognized as the Young Professional of the Year by the Great Southwest Black Chamber of
Commerce. In addition, he was also nominated in 2015 as the Luna Business Advocate at the Regional Hispanic Contractors Association’s Luna Awards and RHCA Women’s Business Conference.
