Boots to Business Reboot

The US Small Business Administration, SBA, is offering a two-step entrepreneurial training program for Veterans of all eras, Servicemembers (including members of the National Guard and Reserves) and their spouses at the University of Texas Arlington this Saturday, November 18.

Step One

An introductory course to entrepreneurship, this is ideal for someone interested in learning more about business ownership opportunities and challenges. Instructed by the SBA’s and partners’ skilled business advisers, participants learn basic business skills and techniques for evaluating their concept.

Step Two

The Foundations of Entrepreneurship is an eight-week online course led by the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University, IVMF. Professors and practitioners of IVMF lead an in-depth curriculum on the elements of a business plan and techniques for starting a business. A minimum of 10 hours per week throughout the 8-week program will be necessary for participants to be able to achieve course goals. By the end of the class participants will be able to identify a business opportunity, draft a business plan and have the tools and knowledge to launch their enterprise.

For more information or to register for the University of Texas Arlington Event, contact the Veterans Business Outreach Center at (817) 272-6789 or email them at [email protected] . This is a great opportunity for Veterans and Servicemembers to ask questions about their startup with skilled business advisers.
