Social Media for the Small Business

Social media marketing is the use of social media platforms and websites to promote a product or service. Each social media platform will change what and how you share information, but there are some general guidelines you can follow to ensure that your efforts have a uniform strategy.

What makes social media marketing so desirable is the ease of use, and the ability to use platforms without having to pay for other marketing outlets, like newspaper, radio, television and websites. Instead, a small business can set up an individual account on a social media platform and start marketing right away.

A social media marketing strategy will help you the entrepreneur define detailed and measurable goals in addition to steps needed to achieve those goals. A written plan will keep you on schedule and allow you to evaluate what is working and what improvements can be made to reach your goals. If you are completely at a loss for where to start, or if your current social media presence has not created any buzz around your small business, then the library has resources to help you out.
